Galactic Grudge
Privacy policy
The short version
Galactic Grudge has no accounts, shows no ads, and uses no tracking or analytics. The iPhone and iPad app sends nothing to us. Its leaderboards and achievements are Apple's Game Center, which is optional and run by Apple. Your progress can sync between your devices through your own iCloud account, which we never see. The free browser version that used to run on this website has been retired; the scores it posted to its web leaderboard are covered below.
The iPhone and iPad app
Nothing is sent to us. Sprout Works doesn't run a server for the app and receives nothing from it: no scores, no names, no device identifiers, no usage data.
Game Center (optional, operated by Apple). If you're signed in to Game Center on your device, the app reports your scores (campaign totals, Endless runs, boss and boss-rush clear times, Daily Run and Weekly Grudge results), the level, wave or difficulty each one was set on, and your achievement progress to Apple's Game Center. Game Center shows your scores on its leaderboards under your Game Center name to other players and your Game Center friends, according to your Game Center settings. Game Center is provided by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one. Game Center names are Apple's, and Apple moderates them. You can sign out, change your nickname or limit who sees your profile in the Settings app under Game Center. If you're not signed in, nothing goes to Game Center: the game works the same and keeps your bests on your device.
iCloud sync. Your game progress (such as your campaign, medals, badges, personal bests and boss grudges) can sync between your devices through your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. It's stored in your iCloud account, not with us, and Sprout Works never sees it. You can turn iCloud off for the app in the Settings app, under your name, then iCloud.
Your callsign. The callsign you can set in Settings is used only by the bosses, who say it in their taunts. It is never sent to us or to any leaderboard. If you haven't set one, the bosses use your Game Center name, on your device, or call you PILOT.
Stored on your device. Your preferences (difficulty, sound, music, haptics, screen shake, camera motion, chosen ship and engine glow, and your callsign) and your progress are saved on your device so the game remembers them.
This website
This website has no analytics, ads or tracking, and sets no cookies. If you type a callsign on the home page so the bosses can taunt you by name, it's kept only in your own browser's local storage, along with how many times you've visited and when you last did (so the bosses can tell you they've been counting). None of it is sent anywhere, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
The retired browser version
Web leaderboard submissions. Until October 2026, a free browser version of the game ran at galacticgrudge.app/play. When you finished a run there, it sent a callsign (the one you typed, or “PILOT” if you hadn't set one), your score, the level you reached, and the mode and difficulty to its public web leaderboard. Runs finished while offline were not sent. The browser version no longer runs and sends nothing new.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, Apple Account details, precise location, contacts, photos, or any advertising or tracking identifiers. We do not require you to create an account.
How information is used
Game Center uses your scores and achievements to run its leaderboards, achievements, friends features and challenges; iCloud uses your saved progress only to keep your devices in step. The retired browser version's leaderboard entries were used for one purpose: to rank its web leaderboard by difficulty. On-device preferences are used only to remember how you like to play. We do not sell or rent any information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-party services
Apple. Game Center and iCloud are Apple services, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Supabase. The retired browser version's leaderboard entries are stored using Supabase, a third-party hosting provider, on our behalf; only the web leaderboard data described above was sent there. See supabase.com/privacy. The app sends nothing to Supabase. Neither the app nor this website contains advertising networks or analytics or tracking SDKs.
Children's privacy
Galactic Grudge is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app collects nothing. In the retired browser version, the only user-entered data was a freely chosen callsign, which should not have contained personal information. If you believe a child submitted personal information as a callsign, contact us and we will remove it.
Data retention & removal
The app. We hold nothing from the app. Your Game Center scores and achievements are managed by Apple; you can manage your Game Center account in the Settings app, or your Apple data at privacy.apple.com. Synced progress lives in your iCloud account and can be deleted in the Settings app under iCloud storage. Everything stored on your device is removed when you delete the app.
The retired browser version. Its web leaderboard entries remain stored. Because there are no accounts, an entry isn't tied to an identity, but if you'd like a specific callsign and score removed, email us with the details and we'll take it down.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
